Dehradun: The weather has changed in Uttarakhand today. The day began with heavy rains in Mussoorie. At the same time, other areas of the state are also receiving light rain. At the same time, cities like Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pauri, and Nainital are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places in the next 24 hours. In view of the heavy rainfall, weather experts have also issued a yellow alert. In all the cities where most of the areas are likely to receive heavy rain with strong thunder.  

At the same time, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at some places. Director of the Meteorological Centre Vikram Singh said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall from the plains to the mountains till July 31. In view of the possibility of heavy rains, Collector Sonika has ordered all the officials associated with disaster management to remain alert. The collector said that if there is negligence in disaster management, then the officials of the concerned departments will be responsible. At the same time, Gangotri highway was closed in the morning due to debris coming into Bandarkot.

193 routes have been blocked due to debris coming in at several places due to rain. Two persons were buried in the house after an under-construction house was damaged in Khatima, while 50 per cent of the office building was damaged due to the falling of a pine tree at the Chharantia Range Office in the Almora district. According to the Public Works Department, Karnprayag-Sonla motorway in construction block Gochar, Rudraprayag-Pokhari-Gopeshwar in construction block Pokhari, Gwaldam-Nandkesari motorway in Tharali, Lambgaon Montana Razakhet motorway in Tehri, Kamad-Ayarkhal road in Uttarkashi, Chinyalisaud In Silkyara Bangaon Chapra Sarot motorway has been blocked. Efforts are being made by the department to open the blocked roads.
