Dehradun: Uttarakhand has been in the rain for the past two days. Wednesday also rained from mountain to ground. Meanwhile, it is cloudy in many places. On the other hand, meteorologists have predicted maximum rainfall with heavy showers in many hilly areas of Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours. An orange alert has also been issued by the MET department in view of the highest rainfall prospects.

According to a report released by the MET department, lightning accompanied by thundershowers has also been predicted at isolated places in the hilly districts of the state. Weathermen have predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the capital Dehradun within the next 24 hours. In view of the possibility of maximum rainfall, Collector Dr. R Rajesh Kumar has asked officials of all disaster management departments to remain alert. He has suggested to all collectors to be active in their respective localities and to take every information related to the disaster from the accountants.

Also, inform the District Disaster Management Centre. Action will be taken against the concerned officers if any negligence is committed in disaster management at any level. Badrinath Highway remained closed for nearly four hours at Pagalnala today. The highway was disrupted due to debris due to maximum rainfall around 6 am, which was started at 10 am. In Chamoli district, 13 link roads are still blocked due to landslides and debris.
