Dehradun: Uttarakhand is known for its remote hills.  Another major reason for this is the non-availability of Government facilities there. Now, the Government has come out with a way to find a solution. The government has appointed women as envoys for these remote areas. In 65 remote rural schools, women are directly reaching the school through Smart Eco Club, problems of roads, electricity, water, fire, mining, etc.

From here, school teachers or principals send those complaints to the departments and the government. What is important is that where the departments could not get the information for weeks, the information is disseminated within a few hours through the children. According to Kalyan Singh Rawat, scientist at the Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) Dehradun, the USERC had launched a water-jungle and land pilot project through the Department of School Education Uttarakhand in government schools in 65 remote rural areas.

Smart eco clubs were set up in government schools. The students, as well as their mothers, were added. The main objective of connecting women was to provide early access to information. Women and students were made aware of the environment, water conservation, sanitation through water forest and land. They were also briefed on sharing the problems. The move is expected to revive the mountains.
