Uttrakhand govt will provide free geometry box to students and sanitary napkins to all the girl students

Saturday, Now Uttarakhand cabinet will provide geometry box to all the students from class 3rd to 8th and sanitary napkins to all the girl students in government and government-aided schools. Chief Minister Harish Rawat headed the cabinet meeting and finalized the decision.

Chief Secretary Shatrughan Singh said, 6.25 lakh students from government and government-aided schools would be benefited from the decision, It will cost exchequer Rs 3.25 crore annually. however, Free napkins to girls would cost Rs 15 crore annually, he added.

The Cabinet also decided to contribute half of the premium in Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, that will cost Rs 4 crore annually to the exchequer.However, it will be for rain-dependent crops. Also, the state government will provide 300 per quintal various mountain crops like mandua, ramdana etc to farmers.
