Uttrakhand high court removed President's rule in state

Thursday, Uttarakhand High Court remove President rule from the state In a big setback for the Centre, President’s rule was imposed on march 27 in the state. The court added that the material considered for the imposition of President's rule is 'wanting.' It has called for a floor test in the Assembly on April 29.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat had challenged this imposition after than, the HC's order came on a plea. However, earlier High Court criticized the centre for imposing President Rule.

The Uttarakhand High Court said that "Absolute power can spoil anybody's mind. Even the president can go wrong and in such cases his decisions can be subjected to scrutiny. Indian courts have the power to scrutinize all orders,"

Uttarakhand plunged into a political crisis when nine Congress legislators, including former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, whom Rawat replaced, revolted against the chief minister and turned to the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for support.

The 70 member of assembly includes 36 Congress legisltors with 9 rebels including, 28 legislators of BJP, and other six member from other smaller party.
