54 vaccine centres closed in Mumbai due to vaccine shortage

Mumbai: Maharashtra is once again witnessing a vaccine crisis. As per the information received recently, at least 54 vaccine centres in Mumbai have been closed due to the shortage of vaccines. It is said that it is being decided not to run vaccine programmes at these centres today.  A list of hospitals that you can see has also been released by the BMC. This is the same hospital where vaccination will not be done today.

 

 

In the past few weeks alone, many parts of Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, had witnessed vaccine shortages. Now, if a report is received, vaccine will not be administered at many centres including Jaslok Hospital, Saifi Hospital, Saifi Hospital, Asian Heart Institute today. On the other hand, there has been mixed response from the people after the release of the list by the BMC. Now, on the one hand, some citizens are asking questions like new dates, new bookings, availability of vaccine from BMC.

On the other hand, some citizens are thanking the BMC for its timely inputs. Let us also tell all of you that there are 132 vaccine centres in Mumbai at present. In fact, out of these, there are 42 civil hospitals and 17 government hospitals. The number of private hospitals is 73. At present, the vaccine shortage in Mumbai is the same. If you remember, the vaccine programme had come to a halt due to shortage at many centres earlier also. In fact, on April 22, about 48 centres stopped the programme due to shortage of vaccines. Earlier, on April 20, Mumbai received more than one lakh vaccine doses. Earlier, vaccination in private hospitals had stopped on April 10, 11 and 12.
