CHENNAI, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu health department said on Monday that four lakh persons are eligible for a booster immunisation dosage. The state health department further stated that the booster dose will be available to 10.7 lakh persons in the state in January. 2.7 lakh frontline workers, 2.7 lakh healthcare personnel, and five lakh persons over the age of 60 are among the recipients.

The state of Tamil Nadu has 91 lakh vaccine doses, and according to the government of India's statistics and guidelines, 9.1 lakh people will be given Covishield and 1.5 lakh will be given Covaxin, according to the statement.

People should check their eligibility for the booster dosage on the CoWIN portal before approaching the centres where they received the first two doses of the Covid vaccination, according to the State Public Health Department. It said, the booster dose is also available at all government-run health centres as well as any private hospital.

The vaccination booster dose is available to all frontline workers, healthcare personnel, and those over 60 who were inoculated before April 14.
