Jamshedpur, Today, In a tragic incident, a van hit a tree and then an electric pole before overturning at a place near Chamta in the early hours in which five women were killed and at least 12 others injured.

Superintendent of Police (Rural), Md Arshi said, "the passengers, mostly women, were returning home from a fair when the incident occurred near Chamta, located 20 km from here".

According to Arshi, the driver of the van lost his control over the vehicle as driver was drunk.

The condition of three persons was stated to be serious, where they have been admitted in M G M Hospital.
