New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) superfast special train Vande Bharat Express (Delhi-Varanasi Train 18) has commenced its commercial operations from today, February 17, 2019, after being flagged off by the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, February 15, 2019. India’s first-ever Train 18 plying on Delhi-Varanasi route takes eight hours to complete the one-way journey. From automatic doors to bio-vacuum toilets to GPS enabled compartments to Wifi facility, Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) supersedes the amenities available in Rajdhani, Duranto, Shatabdi is surely an engineering marvel by Indian Railways.

Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) equipped with automatic climate control feature covers a distance of 769 km from New Delhi to Varanasi in about eight hours. The IRCTC superfast special train has only two halts between New Delhi station and Varanasi Junction, i.e., Kanpur Central and Allahabad Junction. With the highly awaited launch of Delhi-Varanasi Train 18, Vande Bharat Express, the train tickets have been sold out for up until March 3, 2019, as per the status shown on the IRCTC e-ticketing website irctc.co.in on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

The ticket fares for travel from New Delhi to Varanasi in Vande Bharat Express is fixed at Rs 1,760 per person in the air-conditioned chair car while the ticket fare for executive chair car is priced at Rs 3,310 per person. The ticket prices for the journey between New Delhi to Kanpur Central and Allahabad Junction in AC chair car is priced at Rs 1,080 and Rs 1,385 per person, while, tickets for executive chair car are available for Rs 2,085 and Rs 2,725 per person, respectively.

The ticket fares for Varanasi to New Delhi costs Rs 1,700 in AC chair car and Rs 3,250 in executive chair car, from Varanasi to Allahabad costs Rs 510 in AC chair car and Rs 975 in executive chair car while from fares of one-way trip from Varanasi to Kanpur costs Rs 860 in AC chair car and Rs 1,550 in executive chair car.

Vande Bharat Express (Delhi-Varanasi Train 18) runs five days a week -- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The uptime of Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi is fixed at 6 am and it reaches Varanasi Junction at 2 pm in the afternoon. On the return, Vande Bharat Express leaves Varanasi at 3 pm on the same afternoon and reaches New Delhi at 11 pm in the night.
