Chandigarh: A new rake of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express, built at Chennai's Integral Coach Factory, arrived in Chandigarh on Thursday for testing.

On August 24, this new train is anticipated to begin its 110 kmph testing run. This trial run will be conducted in the 100 kilometer Chandigarh New Moranda-Sanewal railway section. Trials will begin at a speed of 15 kmph, and then move up to 45, 60, and 80 kmph. After passing all technical checks, the train will undergo a 110 kmph test.

It is reported that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will be present in the train during the commencement of the first trial run of 110 km.

On August 29, the second portion of this new train's testing run will begin following the 110 km trial run's success. Between Kota and Nagda Railway Station, a 225 km segment will be used for this trial run, during which the train would travel at its top speed of 180 kmph.

After the 50,000 km trial run is complete, the Railway Safety Commissioner will get a report from Railways. When the Safety Commissioner gives the all-clear, the new Vande Bharat Express train will start running on a brand-new route. However, a choice has not yet been made in this regard. According to sources, the new train can travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
