New Delhi: The countrymen are very fond of the high-speed Vande Bharat trains made with indigenous technology. Now Indian Railways is planning to start goods trains in addition to the passenger. That is the goods train of Vande Bharat which will be started from Mumbai to Delhi. Such trains will be more effective in transporting things that get spoiled quickly, such as milk and vegetables. The beginning will be between Mumbai and Delhi. If this experiment is successful, other routes will also be considered.

According to the report, the speed of such goods trains is going to be up to 160 km per hour. Its container will have the ability to control the temperature so that things can be avoided getting spoiled. Its 16 coaches will carry a weight of 264 tonnes. Many customers and traders have already started showing interest in this regard. Information related to this has been given in the letter issued by the Goods Marketing Department of the Railways.

Instructions have been given by the Railway Department to the General Managers of Central and Western Railways to earmark the terminal early for starting such goods local trains. Necessary basic facilities for goods local should be raised in those terminals. Also, instructions have been given to prepare timetables for these trains.
