Lucknow: A major accident occurred in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (November 26) morning. A boat carrying 34 people capsized in the Ganga river here. However, thankfully, all the people were taken out of the river in time. However, the condition of the 2 people is said to be critical. Both have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The accident took place in the middle of the river Ganga in front of Sheetla Ghat.
According to the report, a boat full of passengers suddenly sank in front of Ahilyabai Ghat on Saturday morning. There was an outcry on the spot as the boat capsized in the Ganga. The police and rescue team along with the local sailors present nearby immediately started the rescue operation and after a lot of struggle, 34 passengers on the boat were rescued from the water. The condition of two people is said to be critical in this accident, they have been admitted to Kabir Chaura Hospital for treatment. All the boat passengers are said to be from South India and have come to Varanasi these days.
According to Rajesh Tiwari, an eyewitness, there were 34 people in the boat. Suddenly the water started filling inside the boat. After this, the boatman left the boat and fled and the people in the boat started drowning in the river. After the people screamed, other sailors present on the spot showed alacrity and started rescuing everyone.
