Varanasi: The ashes of former Union Finance Minister and BJP veteran Arun Jaitley were flown in the middle Ganga in front of the Moksha Tirtha Manikarnikaghat on Sunday. His son Rohan Jaitley, aboard the steamer, carried his father's ashes into the Ganges with moist eyes amidst Vedic chanting rituals. During this, Rohan and his mother Sangeeta Jaitley, sister Sonali Jaitley appeared emotional. After flowing the ashes, Rohan sprinkled Ganga water on himself.

Earlier, Rohan Jaitley arrived at Babatpur airport by plane along with 20 family members including mother, sister. MLA Cantt Saurabh Srivastava, BJP Kashi area president Mahesh Chandra Srivastava, metropolitan president, senior leader Nagendra Raghuvanshi, Ashok Dhawan, Harshpal Kapoor, Vaibhav Kapoor, etc. were also present with the Jaitley family. From here, all the people arrived in the convoy of vehicles with an urn in the BJP Metropolitan office located at Neechi Bagh.

In the tribute meeting here, BJP workers and officials paid tribute to Jaitley Ji's ashes. From here, Rohan and his family members reached the Chowk along with the party leaders. From the main gate of Manikarnikaghat in the Chowk, the Jaitley family reached Manikarnikaghat from Toto and boarded a steamer and carried the urn in the Ganges amidst Vedic chants in the Ganges.
