With the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi, a chapter of South politics is over. On Tuesday, Karunanidhi breathed his last at the age of 94. The news of Karunanidhi's death caused a wave of mourning throughout the country, including Tamil Nadu. The drought has spread among DMK supporters. DMK supporters are crying. In the meantime, thousands of politicians and supporters are reaching Rajaji Hall of Chennai to pay homage to their body. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reached Chennai to pay tribute to Karunanidhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai to pay tribute to DMK chief Karunanidhi. Chief Minister E Palanisamy received him on the airport. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan paid homage to former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at Rajaji Hall in Chennai. Security arrangements have been increased around Chennai's Marina Beach. Viduthalai Chiruthaiagal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol Thirumavalavan sought Bharat Ratna for former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. In Rajaji Hall, he paid tribute to Karunanidhi. 

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha's niece Deepa Jayakumar also paid homage to Karunanidhi. Former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy went to Rajaji Hall and paid tribute to Karunanidhi. Rajinikanth arrived in Karunanidhi's house in Gopalpuram. Governor of Tamil Nadu Banwar Lal Purohit paid homage to former Chief Minister and Karunanidhi, DMK Chief at Rajaji Hall in Chennai.
