Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon and directed by Amar Kaushik, has been in theaters for almost 5 months. The film ended up being the eighth most grossing Hindi film of 2022. Although the picture did not do as well as projected and finished out with a lower-than-average gross, it had a stronger trajectory than other films last year, showing that it attracted some patronage. It has heard that Bhediya will have its digital debut on Jio Cinema on May 26th.

A traditional window between the theatrical and digital premieres for Hindi films has been 8 weeks since the last agreement with the Film Federation Of India, but Bhediya's release over 6 months after its debut is quite shocking for everyone. Not just Bhediya, but also Vikram Vedha, is launching on the same platform roughly 6 months after its debut. Jio Cinema has aggressively positioned itself as India's biggest streaming behemoth. Jio Studios revealed 100 projects last month at a press event that would be released on their streaming service over the next two years. Vikram Vedha and Bhediya will get things started, and Bloody Daddy will follow.

Varun Dhawan will be next seen in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Bawal' alongside Jhanvi Kapoor, also be seen in 'Bae Vs Bae' with Ananya Panday. Kriti Sanon will be soon seen in 'Adipurush' with actor Prabhas, saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh. The film is based on the Hindi epic 'Ramayana' where the kriti will be seen in role of 'Sita'.
