New Delhi: BJP MP Varun Gandhi questioned the government's economic policy on Wednesday, saying that mismanagement has pushed a huge number of small producers and retailers to close their doors.
Varun Gandhi, a BJP Lok Sabha member from Pilibhit, urged residents to support local small business owners by shopping there instead of Amazon and Walmart. Gandhi claimed the small manufacturers and merchants were the ones who took care of the country's economy throughout the global recession, according to a news item he shared on Twitter. "A considerable number of small producers and retailers have been forced to close their doors due to corruption, inflation, and poor economic policy management. Support them by purchasing at neighbourhood small businesses rather than Amazon or Walmart. They were the ones that looked after the country's economy during the global recession "Varun Gandhi expressed his thoughts.
Varun Gandhi has been criticising his own administration on many issues, including farmer protests, the Lakhimpur incident, and now irregularities in the UPTET on December 5. Varun Gandhi questioned why recruitments are not taking place when there are vacancies in the government, citing police action against protesting applicants of the UP teachers' test in Lucknow.
