Varun Tej collaborates with Harish Shankar for Telugu remake of Jigarthanda

Popular Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj gained a lot of appreciation when he delivered a classic entertainer in 2014 with Jigarthanda which featured Siddharth and Bobby Simha in lead roles. The movie got the rave reviews from the audience and went on to become one of the most acclaimed films in Kollywood. The film is now being remade in Telugu and the project has been titled Valmiki. The remake will be directed by Harish Shankar. The announcement was made today by the makers and was officially launched in Hyderabad.

In a launch event which was attended by Varun's sister Niharika besides producer Dil Raju and other prominent personalities from the film industry. Movie will be produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the banner 14 Reels Plus. The music of Valmiki will be composed by Devi.

Jigarthanda also features Bobby Simha as Assault Sethu, the antagonist, and the makers of Valmiki are yet to reveal who would be seen playing that roke. The companionship between Siddharth and Bobby Simha was the highlight of the film and is the most talked about in Tamil cinema. It will be interesting to see who the makers will rope in to play the role of Bobby Simha.
