In a move to appease the people of Rajasthan before election, the government has announced a Rs. 8000 crore loan waiver for farmers, Rs. 650 crore tax relief and Rs. 44,135 to be spent on social and community schemes in the year 2018-19. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia presented the budget in the assembly on Monday.

Out of the total allocated amount, 40.92 percent will be spent on social welfare schemes and programs, 25.08 percent on the power sector while the rural development sector only got 13.42 percent. The loan waiver amount for one time would be Rs. 50000 for small and marginal farmers alongside waived off land revenue.

We have tried to touch every sector and section of society and have tried to make best use of the public money to support those deprived” claimed Scindia.  She also ordered setting up of Traders Welfare Board with the initial amount of Rs. 10 crore for quick problem resolving of the dealers.  The stamp duty for setting up IT, tourism and entertainment units will be cut by 50%. 

Subtly hinting at the GST success, the chief minister informed about the inclusion of 1.81 lakh new tax payers in GST which resulted in a 35% increase tax base compared to the old VAT.
