Despite uncertainty and gambling about GST, the country's auto component division grew by 14.3 percent to Rs 2.92 lakh crore in the last financial year.

The unit of the auto component manufacturers, Aikman, says that the strong demand in the after-sales service (after market) segment has strengthened the industry. In the last year, this segment increased by 25.6 per cent to Rs 56,096 crore, which was Rs 44,660 crore in the previous year.

According to the organization data, exports increased by 3.1 percent in 2016-17 to Rs 73,128 crore, while imports declined by 0.1 percent to Rs 90,662 crore.

Aikmann chairman Ratan Kapoor said, "Despite the certainty of the ban on bank robbery and the implementation of GST, the vehicle production is strong. In this sense, the performance of the vehicle component industry was very good. He said that with the increase of 25.6 percent, the aftermarket market remained glittering. On the industry scenario, Kapoor said, "We believe that the technological transformation of the automobile industry is mandatory, which seeks investment in research and development and intellectual property creation."

The Director General of Axa, Vinnie Mehta, said that the industry is currently preparing BS six standards from BS Four by 2020. He said that it will not only have to make huge investments in technology but also have to make skill available.

According to the auction, 49 percent of spare parts, three vehicles, 22 percent two-wheelers, 11 percent for medium and heavy commercial vehicles and 8 percent for light commercial vehicles were sent to the vehicle makers as part of the distribution of vehicle components.
