Venezuela's Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, arrived in India on Friday for a working visit, receiving a warm welcome from Indian officials. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, expressed excitement about her visit, noting that it presents an opportunity to further deepen the bilateral relationship between India and Venezuela.

Rodriguez previously visited India in August 2023 at the invitation of Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. During that trip, she attended the 9th CII-LAC Conclave with a delegation that included four ministers and 25 business representatives. Her visit also featured important discussions with India's Finance Minister, External Affairs Minister, and the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

This is not her first time in India. In October 2019, Rodriguez, accompanied by Venezuela’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Simon Zerpa, participated in the 2nd International Solar Alliance General Assembly.

Venezuela recently held presidential elections, where Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner with 51.2% of the vote, defeating opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who secured 44.2%. The results sparked accusations of electoral fraud, causing controversy both in Venezuela and across social media platforms.
