Hyderabad: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu emphasised the need of ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all on Wednesday. He proposed that modern multi-specialty hospitals establish satellite centres in rural regions as well. In Hyderabad, he was launching Yoda Life Line Diagnostics Pvt Ltd.

The Vice President voiced concern about the rise in non-communicable diseases in India and encouraged young people to have a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. "Avoid sedentary habits and a poor diet by engaging in regular physical activity such as yoga or cycling," he said.

He noted that the ongoing Covid pandemic has taught us many harsh lessons, including the significance of proper ventilation in our homes and offices, as well as the importance of eating a healthy traditional diet to improve our immunity. He praised scientists and researchers for developing the Covid vaccine in record time and advised everyone to get vaccinated. He warned people not to relax their guard and to follow Covid's guidelines.

Vice President highlighte the need for observing ethical behaviour in the medical field. Stating that a few black sheep bring bad name to this noble profession, he called for avoiding prescribing unnecessary diagnostic tests. He lauded centre's decision to set up at least one medical college in each district. He applauded the plan by the centre to establish at least one medical college in each area. He also advised that governments envision one medical college in each revenue sub-division in this regard.
