Verizon LG V40 ThinQ Receives Android 9 Pie Update

LG is not really famous for the fast updates in the Android world, so you shouldn’t be surprised that Android 9 Pie for V40 ThinQ devices sold by Verizon just started to be released. Google’s official release of Android Q is less than three months, so this is definitely the case “better late than never.”

The update comes wirelessly, as an assembly of the V405UA20a, and includes a security patch level of April 1, 2019. In addition to all the goodies that Google baked in Pie last year, including navigation with two-button tablet-based gestures, you also get new camera features with this new release: Cine shot, Story shot, AI composition, YouTube live to record and much more.

There is also a game launcher, improved notifications, adjusted volume controls for multimedia and dual access to applications - useful if you have several accounts in some social networks. As usual, it is expected that the update will be phased in deployment, so it will probably be available on all V40 ThinQ devices in just a few days or even weeks.

If you want to check it manually, go to “Settings”> “About phone”> “Software updates”, you might be lucky.
