New Delhi:  On Saturday, Veteran actor and rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday joined Congress in presence of Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala in the national capital. The two-time Lok Sabha MP and former Union Minister joined the party a week after meeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He took to Twitter to finally bid adieu to his old party- the BJP, saying that he was groomed in the party with the guidance and blessings of the stalwarts like Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Nanaji Deshmukh and LK Advani.

Here to be noted that In a series of tweets, Sinha said, "It's with a heavy heart and immense pain that I finally bid adieu to my old party, for reasons best known to all of us, on 6th April, which also happens to be the Sansthapna Diwas of BJP." "I don't hold any ill will for our people as they were like my family and I was groomed in this party with the guidance and blessings of the stalwarts like Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh, late and great PM #atalbiharivajpayee and of course, our friend philosopher, ultimate leader, guru & guide, Sri. L.K #Advani," he added in his tweet.Sinha said he is hopeful that the Grand Old National Party which he is stepping into, will provide him with opportunities to serve our people, society and nation in terms of unity, prosperity, progress, development, and glory.

It was in the last week that the 72-year-old had announced his decision to quit the BJP and join the grand old party. According to reports, the Congress is likely to field Sinha from his current constituency Patna Sahib against BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad
