Popular Lyricist of Malayalam films Poovachal Khadar has passed away. In fact, he was admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital for being infected with Covid-19 and has now passed away. According to his family sources, 72-year-old Puwachal Khadar had been undergoing treatment for some time and suffered a heart attack this night, tuesday midnight.
Let us tell you all that in a career spanning more than four decades, he wrote songs for more than 400 Malayalam films and 1,500 Malayalam film songs, some of which turned into immortal hits. He hailed from the capital suburbs and entered the Malayalam film industry in 1973. After that, he was busy till 2011. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condoled his demise and termed it as a major loss to the social environment of the state.
"He will probably be known as the person who has written the most songs for the film industry. He will be remembered a lot. Let us tell you that every prominent musician and singer in the state has used his songs, besides working with the biggest hit makers in the Malayalam film industry. He will now be cremated today.
