Now Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has also joined this debate. Addressing the students of the Tamil Students Association in Delhi, Naidu said that English historians have written the events of history as per their own. They never considered the 1857 revolution as the first struggle for independence. There is a need to rewrite history with Indian contexts and values.

Naidu said that the British exploitation of India was linked to their interests and history became a helpful tool for them. The country's education system should reflect Indian culture and tradition. In our country, more than 19 thousand languages are spoken as mother tongue.
