Now Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has also joined this debate. Addressing the students of the Tamil Students Association in Delhi, Naidu said that English historians have written the events of history as per their own. They never considered the 1857 revolution as the first struggle for independence. There is a need to rewrite history with Indian contexts and values.

In our country, more than 19 thousand languages are spoken as mother tongue.
