Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar got agitated over a live show by Pakistani channel PTV Sports and left the show midway after disrespecting the anchor. Shoaib Akhtar was accompanied by former West Indies veterans Sir Viv Richards and David Gover. Pakistan has taken a strong step towards the semi-finals by defeating New Zealand by 5 wickets in the T20 World Cup match on Tuesday. Shoaib Akhtar was reviewing the performance of the Pakistani team on the PTV Sports show.

But the show led to something that made Shoaib Akhtar television host Dr. Nauman leave the show in the middle in anger after being humiliated by Niaz. Shoaib Akhtar then resigned from his post as cricket analyst at PTV Sports Channel as he was asked to go out by the host of the government-controlled PTV. Akhtar said the programme host treated and disrespected Pakistan after their 5-wicket win over New Zealand in the T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

Shoaib Akhtar, 46, who played 46 Tests and 163 ODIs for Pakistan, got up, removed his microphone and left. The program's host Nauman Niaz did not try to recall him and showed no response and continued the program, but the other guests of the program, Sir Vivian Richards, David Gover, Rashid Latif, Omar Gul, Aqib Javed and Pakistan women's team captain Sana Mir, were stunned. Akhtar's departure from the programme created a stir on social media and users asked Niaz to apologise.
