Vidya Balan,the Bollywood actress who is the brand ambassador for national sanitation in India has donated the Rs 5 lakh; which Vidya was given as part of the Woman Icon of the Year Award money for her giving to Indian cinema.

NGO Swades Foundation will receive the money and the NGO is helping in rural empowerment, which has been founded by Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala.

Vidya was the brand ambassador for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, though she usually spread awareness about sanitation.
