IIT-Madras incubated Clean Tech Air OK Technologies has added yet another feather to its cap by on boarding Mr.Vijay Kannan, known as the doyen of Indian air purifier industry and the man behind Blue air success. He has been a driving force behind the much-needed air purifier industry in India, which is cursed with bad air quality. A name to reckon with in the field of air purification, Mr. Kannan will be joining Air OK as the Chief Strategy Officer and will be responsible for company’s foray into customer retail segment. Air OK is the only indigenous air purifier company that has its own R&D in India and fully manufactures in India, in sync with the Make in India policy initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. Kannan will work on formulating and executing a new comprehensive company growth strategy to bring clean air for everyone, strengthening the overall operations of Air OK. Mr. Kannan’s shot to fame was the national viral campaign titled ‘Clean Air India movement’, which was kick-started by him in early 2014 that gave birth to the present air purifier industry. The campaign undoubtedly had awakened the common man and government stakeholders, on the life-threatening slow poison emerging from bad air quality, risking the lungs of young kids and adults. Following the campaign’s success, Mr. Kannan was awarded the Global Environment Award 2016 for his outstanding achievements in reducing pollution and environment management.

Talking about the new beginning, Mr. Kannan said, “As a responsible Indian citizen, I would like to extend to people of India the basic right to breathe clean air. AirOK’s clear ambition is to provide clean air for everyone and we are prepared to deliver it across the nation. With the current significant impact in the wake of the pandemic, Air OK will soon offer corona disinfectant air purifiers as well to combat Covid-19. Our vision is to be an air purifier market leader in India, capturing 20% of its market share by 2025. To be honest, I am exceedingly excited to be a part of this interesting journey.”

Air OK Founder & CEO Mr. V Deekshith Vara Prasad said, “Air OK has always been about Make in India, passionate in developing Indigenous Innovations. We came up with new Indigenous technology called “EGAPATM Comprehensive” for clean air.”

Further Mr.Vishesh Kaul Head Sales and operations added, “With the success of our first innovation EGAPATM in B2B Segment, We want to create an end-to-end trusted experience for consumers when it comes to buying air purifiers & offer the best value proposition for buyers, Now with the guidance of Vijay Kannan, we plan to reach out directly to the market players to ensure ‘Clear Air for Everyone’ at all Indian homes, offices and industrial spaces.
