Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey's 'Mumbaikar' teaser out

A Mumbai don's son is accidentally kidnapped for ransom, but things become more difficult when many suspects confess to the crime, further complicating matters. Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey star in Santosh Sivan's Hindi version of the Tamil film Maanagaram. The thriller takes place over 24 hours in Mumbai and depicts the city's problems as well as a failed kidnapping.

The teaser depicts Vijay's character taking a wrong child from school. He turns out to be the son of a violent Mumbai don (Ranvir Shorey). The boy escapes in a number of twists and turns, and the don is soon swamped with phone calls stating that they have his son. Because the film takes place across 24 hours, there is frantic action mixed with dark comedy. Mumbaikar was shot a couple years back and will have its internet debut next month. Lokesh Kanagaraj directed the 2017 Tamil film, which stars Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra, and Sri. It took place in Chennai.

Vijay was most recently seen in the Tamil film Viduthalai Part 1 and made his OTT debut with Prime Video's Farzi. He will also appear in Atlee's Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan. Vikrant Massey was most recently seen in Gaslight with Sara Ali Khan.

The cast of Mumbaikar also includes Hridhu Haroon, Ranvir Shorey, Sachin Khedekar, Tanya Maniktala, and Sanjay Mishra. Mumbaikar, produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Riya Shibu, will also be dubbed in Tamil and will be available for free on Jio Cinema on June 2, 2023.
