Vijay Sethupathi starrer film 'Maharaja' has taken theaters by storm upon its release. This action-thriller movie hit the big screens on June 14, 2024. Despite clashing at the box office with Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion,' 'Maharaja' is performing remarkably well and has surpassed 'Chandu Champion.'

According to reports from Sacnilk, 'Maharaja' opened its box office account with a business of ₹4.7 crore on the first day. The film's earnings increased on the second day, collecting ₹7.25 crore. With this, the total domestic box office collection of the film has reached ₹11.95 crore.

'Maharaja' has outperformed 'Chandu Champion.' Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' is overshadowing the Hindi film 'Chandu Champion.' Both 'Maharaja' and Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' were released simultaneously. Amid the clash, 'Maharaja' has established its dominance at the box office. While 'Chandu Champion' earned ₹11.50 crore in two days, 'Maharaja's collection stands at ₹11.75 crore.

The star cast of 'Maharaja' includes Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. Anurag Kashyap, Abhirami, and Mamta Mohandas also play significant roles in the film.

As for Vijay Sethupathi's work front, he was last seen in Sriram Raghavan's film 'Merry Christmas,' where he starred alongside Katrina Kaif. 'Merry Christmas' was released in both Hindi and Tamil but did not perform well at the box office and was considered a flop. Vijay will next be seen in the film 'Viduthalai 2,' which is expected to release this Diwali.
