Today is the death anniversary of scholar, advocate and writer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, one of the great revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He has made a place in the hearts of people with his work. Today, his name is taken with great pride and honor. He is also called 'Veer' Savarkar. Today we are going to tell you how the word 'Veer' came in front of his name. There is a story related to the title 'Veer' of Savarkar which we are going to tell you today. It is said that the artist who gave Savarkar the title of 'Veer' was also called as 'Acharya' by him.

During that time the title of both the names became popular in such a way that people do not take names without their title. Savarkar was blacklisted by the party after a dispute with the Congress over a statement. During that time, Savarkar was opposed everywhere. Meanwhile, drama and film artist PK Atre decided to accompany Savarkar. He then held a reception for Savarkar at his Balmohan theater in Pune.

It is said that the Congress workers threatened to show black flags against Savarkar along with distributing leaflets for this program. Even after this protest, thousands of people joined the program and Savarkar was welcomed. During this time, Atre gave Savarkar the title of 'Veer'. Atre had told Savarkar fearless in his speech at the reception and said, "The black flag will not scare the man who is not scared even by the punishment of 'Kala Pani'". Atre gave Savarkar the title of 'Swatantryaveer'.
