Vinoba Bhave, who dedicated his life to improving the lives of the people, was born on this day. Yes, Vinoba Bhave was born on September 11, 1895, in Colaba, Maharashtra. Vinoba Bhave was also a great freedom fighter. He started reading the Bhagavad Gita at a very young age and was very inspired by the Gita. In fact, he understood the essence of the Gita and then read a newspaper report about Gandhi's speech at the Banaras Hindu University which impressed him a lot. He was on his way to appear for the intermediate examination through Mumbai in 1916 but dropped out after hearing Mahatma Gandhi's speech.

At that time Vinoba Bhave put his school and college certificates on fire and started improving the lives of the people. Vinoba Bhave met Mahatma Gandhi for the first time on June 7, 1916, and was so impressed by his words that he joined Mahatma Gandhi (ascetic community) in Sabarmati. Not only that, but they also took 1000 villages and distributed land among the landless. At the same time, he is said to have believed, "There is land just like air and water. Everyone has a right to that. You treat me as your son and give me the sixth part of your land on which the landless can settle and cultivate and feed themselves.''

Vinoba Bhave believed that a 'non-violent revolution' needed to be waged for the complete transformation of Indian society. In 1932, the British government sent Vinoba to jail for six months in Dhulia for conspiring against the government. Tell you that Vinoba Bhave was the first International Ramon Magsay Award for Community Leadership. He passed away on 15th November 1982.
