Violence continues in Bengal, TMC worker shot dead by unidentified miscreants

Kolkata: The Lok Sabha elections are over but the violence in West Bengal continues. On Tuesday, the Trinamool Congress worker was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Dumdum region of North Kolkata. The deceased has been identified as Nirmal Kundu. He was shot by three bike-rider in his head from point blank range. Kundu was the chairman of the ward six which falls in the Dumdum Municipal Corporation area.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital after being shot, where he was pronounced dead, according to the information. The TMC has alleged that the BJP is behind the incident. At Dumdum area during the recent Lok Sabha elections, the close fight between the BJP and the TMC has been witnessed. Here, Saugata Roy of TMC defeated BJP's Sasik Bhattacharya by a margin of very few votes.

Let's say the political pulls are going on before the parliamentary elections between TMC and BJP. West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had seen a controversy with the BJP president Amit Shah over several counts. Including Bangladeshi infiltration and other communal cases. TMC has blamed the BJP for rising violence in the state.
