The police reached the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. At the same time, seeing the situation deteriorating, the administration has imposed curfew in the area. There was arson, sabotage and chaos all around in the violence-hit Mulbagal. The miscreants created a ruckus in the area for a long time. At present, no religious procession is allowed in the area without the permission of the administration.

Police said that the procession, organized on the eve of Ram Navami, started from Shivkeshav Nagar in the afternoon and around 7.40 pm, the yatra was moving towards the Muslim locality of Jehangir Mohalla, when there was a sudden power outage, which was followed by anti-social activities. The elements started pelting stones at the people who were taking out the procession. Let us tell you that a similar case had come to light in Karauli, Rajasthan, when during the Hindu New Year rally they were pelted with stones in a Muslim area and their vehicles were set on fire.
