Kolkata: A teenager along with two others was also reported to have been shot in a violent clash between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and BJP workers at Patrasair in West Bengal's Bankura district. The clash broke out in the area when some BJP workers shouted 'Jay Shri Ram' at the TMC workers who were returning from a rally of Minister of State and senior TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari.

Expressing concern over the condition of the teenager, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said, it is very unfortunate that people are being fired upon for putting up a slogan. Ghosh has said, "How can anybody shoot at someone when Jai Shri Ram's slogan is raised? Where have we reached? Is it Pakistan?

BJP MP Subhash Sarkar has alleged that the police had fired at his party workers targeting him. The government has said that all three people have been shot and injured. We've used a rubber bullet, but it's a sheer lie," police say.
