MUMBAI: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli will attend the opening ceremony of the seventh season Mumbai phase of the Professional Kabaddi League (PKL) on July 27 before leaving for the upcoming West Indies tour. This was stated in a release issued by the league. According to the release, two Maharashtra teams, U Mumba and Puneri Paltan, will also take part in the opening ceremony of the Mumbai phase of the Virat League. Former Indian Kabaddi captain Anup Kumar is the coach of Puneri Paltan.

The Mumbai phase of the Pro Kabaddi League will begin from 27th of this month and will continue till the 2nd of August. Virat Kohli has been named the captain of the Indian team in all three formats for the West Indies tour. Though it was reported during the World Cup that Virat Kohli would not go on a tour of the West Indies, Virat Kohli suddenly decided to go on a tour of the West Indies amid criticism after his defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the semi-finals.

The West Indies tour of the Indian team will begin on August 3. Three T20s, three ODIs, and two Test matches will be played. The tour will begin with the T20 series, followed by the ODI series on August 8. The first Test will begin on 22nd August, and the second Test will be played on 30th August.
