ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is to commence form today i.e from May 30. The opening ceremony is concluded in London on Wednesday. After the opening ceremony, Indian captain Virat Kohli along with the skippers of the other nine teams participating in the ICC World Cup 2019 met Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry.

The showpiece event was marked open with a glittery ceremony at The Mall, in front of the Buckingham Palace which was graced by some of the legends of the game along with celebrities from around the world. The opening ceremony started with the captains of all ten teams taking the centre stage before a performance from English band Rudimental. After the ceremony, the captains were invited for a Garden Party at the Buckingham Palace.

"Captains including @Eoin16 and @imVkohli met Her Majesty and His Royal Highness before joining a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace," tweeted the Royal Family. 

Former Indian bowler Anil Kumble and actor Farhan Akhtar represented India in the 60-second challenge that took place in the curtain raiser.

India will play their opening game against South Africa on June 05 and have enough time to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the opening clash. The Kohli-led side bounced back strongly after losing their first warm-up game against New Zealand by six wickets to beat Bangladesh by 95 runs in their second game in Cardiff on Tuesday.
