Virat Kohli lef Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 4 wickets on their  last match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 edition. Though RCB is out of the current season, Virat Kohli on Saturday became the second captain after his Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni to reach the milestone of 4000 runs in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Virat  achieved the milestone with his knock of 16 runs off seven deliveries in IPL 2019 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.  RCB Skipper achieved the milestone with a four against Khaleel Ahmed in the second over of the innings which the RCB skipped hammered past mid-off. With that boundary, Kohli crossed 4000-run mark as an IPL captain.

Former Indian Captain, Dhoni was the first skipper to script the record. He has 4084 runs in the tournament history as a skipper. He has not captained an IPL team in only one season when he played for now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017.

Kohli ended his IPL 2019 with 464 runs in 33.14 runs with one century and two half-centuries. He presently stands fifth in the Orange Cap list. However, as skipper, it was yet another poor campaign as RCB end the season as the bottom-placed side in the points table.
