Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested a man who threatened to rape the daughter of Indian captain Virat Kohli. The culprit has been identified as Ramnagesh Alibthini and has been arrested from Hyderabad. Ramnaresh Alibthini, 23, has been arrested by Mumbai's cyber cell police. The culprit is a Ramnagesh software engineer and used to build software for food delivery apps earlier.

Virat Kohli and his family received threats after the defeat against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma's daughter had received a rape threat from an unknown account on Twitter. The account from which the tweet was tweeted was deleted.

The same Kohli's daughter had taken cognizance of the Delhi Commission for women's threat of rape on Twitter. A notice was sent to the police by the Delhi Commission for Women. Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal termed the incident as very shameful. Swati Maliwal has issued a notice to the police seeking the arrest of the culprit at the earliest. Not only Kohli but Indian pacer Mohammed Shami also had to be the target of the fans. Objectionable statements were made against him on social media.
