B.R. Chopra's Mahabharata was as comprehensive as a show, the stories during the shooting of the show were as extensive. With this, there were so many incidents during the shooting that it would be difficult to cover those stories in the form of a book. Mahabharata was one of the most popular serials of that era. Everyone knows about the main characters of the show, but there were many actors who played small but important characters. Along with this, Virendra Razdan was seen as Vidur in the show. But few people are aware that he played Maulana Azad in Mahatma Gandhi's biopic film.

Maulana Azad's character was more popular than Vidur's character. The film Gandhi was directed by Richard Attenberg. Virendra was also seen working in a supporting role in the Aditya Pancholi film Zanjeer The Chain, released in 1988. Few people are aware that Virendra's father was a Sufi musician.  As far as Virendra is concerned, he used to feel like acting. He learned acting from Delhi's National School of Drama.

Virendra was 53 years old when he said goodbye to this world on 13 June 2003. His characters always kept him alive in the hearts of the audience. Talking about Virendra's work in TV shows, apart from Mahabharata, he was seen working in TV shows like Bharat Ek Khoj and Kanoon. On the big screen, he worked in films like Vaasta, Jaan Lada Denge, Aaja Meri Jaan and Yaar Meri Zindagi.
