New Delhi: Former Team India opener Virender Sehwag was a batsman who changed the concept of opening batting in Test cricket. Viru has always been in the news for his stormy batting, but the former India opener says he too had to respect the new ball while playing in England. Veeru's century during the 2002 tour testifies to this as he scored 106 off 183 balls in the second Test of the series in Nottingham.

Now that Team India is all set for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and the five-match Test series against England, Sehwag believes opening batsman Rohit Sharma also needs to be cautious to start his innings. Talking to the media, Sehwag has given Rohit Sharma important advice to play in England. Sehwag said, "I think I was not that aggressive when I started the innings in England for the first time. I completed a century off 150-160 balls, because in swinging conditions you have to respect the new ball and the conditions and I get success".

Sehwag said the situation remains the same. Similarly, it depends on the wicket. If you are playing on a flat track or a grassy wicket, it makes a big difference. If the weather is good, there is less swing otherwise there is a lot of swing. In England, quite a few depend on the situation. If clouds come, the ball can do anything and if it is sunny, it becomes easier to bat".
