In a bid to poke fun at the Centre the Congress on Tuesday staged a "pakoda" protest in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The Congress workers organized a "Shikshit Berozgar pakoda Center" in the state. This development comes following Amit Shah’s debut speech at the Rajya Sabha on Monday and Prime Ministers "pakora" remark last month - which started the whole hullaballoo.

The Congress leaders were found selling 'Arun Jaitley' pakora and 'Raman' pakora striking the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and the Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh.

The Congress on Tuesday took a potshot over Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah at his statement on "pakoda" sellers and Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the Rajya Sabha.

BJP president Shah was quoted saying: "A pakora seller is earning a living, not begging, who knows his next generation might rise to be a leader, after all, a tea seller has today become a Prime Minister."

In a current interview to a news channel last month, Modi had said a person selling "pakoda" outside and earning Rs 200 a day should also be considered as "employed".

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Monday tore the Congress for being incapable to deal with the issue of unemployment.
