Indian full-service carrier Vistara on Saturday said it will begin flights between Mumbai and Male from March 3 onwards under the air bubble arrangement formulated between India and the Maldives.

The airline will deploy its three-class A320neo aircraft on this route, said its press release. The carrier's flights between Mumbai and Male would operate three times a week - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Scheduled international flights have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, special international flights have been operating since July last year under air bubble arrangements formed between India and around 24 countries.

However, certain air bubble arrangements have made it possible for airlines to operate select international flights since July last year between India and 24 other countries.

The round-trip, all-inclusive fares for Mumbai-Malé start at Rs 17,699 for economy class and at Rs 46,999 for the business class. This flight to the Maldives will operate three times a week – Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Vistara is an Indian full-service carrier based at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airline provides domestic services to major metropolitan centres and tourism destinations. The carrier is a JV between Tata Sons Private Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited.
