In the final round of the $ 150000 Legends of Chase online tournament on Wednesday, Indian Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand suffered a defeat against Ukraine's Vysil Ivanchuk. This is his eighth defeat in the competition. He currently remains at the ninth position. He was left behind only by Grandmaster Peter Lecco who secured the last place.

The four matches of the match between Vishwanathan Anand and Ivanchuk were drawn, after which the help of the tiebreaker for the result had to be taken, but that too was left at par after 59 moves. The Ukraine players were playing with black pieces in the decider, so those winners were declared.

Vishwanathan Anand finished ninth with 7 match points. He made his only win against Boris Gelfand while making his Magnus Carlson Tour debut. In other matches, world number one player Magnus Carlson defeated Vladimir Kramnik 3–1 to win all nine matches of the opening stage. In the semi-finals of this tournament, Carlson of Norway will now face Peter Swidler, while Hungary's Anish Giri is going to face Russia's Ian Nepomaniacchi.
