It is said that if you are a pair then you should be like Rama and Sita. Rama is considered an ideal man and Sita as his partner. Even today when parents see marriage relationships for their children, they find only boys and girls like Ram and Sita. It is celebrated as the marriage festival of the pair of Ram and Sita in India in the name of Vivaha Panchami. This festival is celebrated on Panchami of Shukla Paksha of Aghaan month. And it is also said that on this day Goswami Tulsidas ji also completed the writing of Ramcharit Manas. Tulsidasji says that 'Sri Ram has presented a solution to the problems caused by marriage to all three disorders of the mind, work, anger and greed.'

Anniversary day of Ram and Sita
Mother Sita was the daughter of King Janak, the Mithila king. For this reason, Mithila residents celebrate this day with great pomp. On this day all the temples are decorated like a bride. In temples like Mithila and Nepal, all temples associated with Lord Rama are decorated on this day. And also celebrate this day as the anniversary of Rama and Sita.

Importance of Vivah Panchami
According to Hindu scripture Ramayana, King Janaka's daughter Sita was swayamvar and many beautiful and powerful kings of the kingdom came in that swayamvar. But the same man could marry Sita who could lift that bow. All the kings tried but did not even lift the bow from anyone. Rama then attempted to put a bow on the bow and it broke. Both were married to this Vijay. Even today, we all celebrate this day as the anniversary and marriage of Ram Sita.

Method of worship
Devotees worship Lord Rama and Mother Sita on this day. Special poojas are conducted on Vivaha Panchami in states like Nepal. For Vivah Panchami Puja we should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. After that, prepare a garb of worship by wearing new clothes. Place the cloth of worship by laying a cloth on this post. After this, install idols of Rama and Sita and prepare them like the bride and groom. After this, worship both gods with fruits, flowers and other worship material. Devotees who do not want to worship at home can also go to the temple. In this Vivaha Panchami, songs and mantras of bhakti are recited. Some of the mantras are such as ‘Om Darasathaya Vidhamahe, Sita Vallabhaya Dhimahi Tanno Ram Prachodayat’ and Om Janak Nadinaye Vidhamahe, Bhumi Jai Dhimahi Tanno Sita Prachodayat.

On this day temples are decorated very well. The procession of this Lord Rama is taken from one temple to another. And this procession takes place from Ayodhya towards Janakpur. On this day, devotees sing hymns and songs of Lord Rama to seek his blessings. Hymns such as Hari Anant, Hari Katha Anant, Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari etc. are sung.
