The Chinese smartphone maker is yet to reveal any information regarding the launch of the phone in India. However, the smartphone has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website database, which means that it will be released in India soon.
Vivo Y01A sports a 6.51-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution (1600x720 pixels). The display also has an aspect ratio of 20:9. However, the latest Vivo Y-series smartphone does not support the higher refresh rate, instead settling for the standard 60Hz.
Apart from a slightly thick chin and a water-drop notch for the front-facing 5-megapixel camera, the smartphone has pretty slim bezels.

The phone does not have a fingerprint scanner and instead relies on AI-powered face unlock. It houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash housed within a rectangular module.
Out of the box, the Vivo Y01A runs Android 11 (Go edition) with a layer of Funtouch OS 11.1 on top. As a result, the operating system of the smartphone is quite old as compared to others in the same segment. Even as the processor in Vivo's latest Y-series model is relatively old, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC.
The smartphone packs 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. However, the storage can be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. In terms of connectivity, the Vivo Y01A has dual SIM card slots as well as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS navigation.
