There has been chaos in the telecom world of India following the order of the Supreme Court regarding the payment of AGR. Apart from this, the existence of Vodafone Idea, once the largest company in terms of subscribers, has been questioned. Along with this, the Indian telecom sector has seen companies like Etisalat DB, Reliance Communications, Sistema Shyam and Aircel closing their business and Vodafone can also consolidate its business from India if funds are not met, given the current circumstances. This may affect the livelihood of more than one lakh people.

In addition, the Supreme Court in its judgment on October 24, 2019, ordered payment of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) to telecom companies. This order created a huge liability of Rs 1.47 lakh crore on the telecom companies already facing tremendous competition. With this, Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) has a liability of about Rs 53,038 crore. The Supreme Court had on Friday reprimanded the telecom companies and the Department of Telecom for paying these dues, while the Department of Telecom gave the telecom companies up to 11:59 minutes on Friday night to pay the dues.

For your information, let us tell you that BofA Securities said in a note on Friday, "It will have a negative impact on VIL". He had questioned whether India is moving towards a market with two companies. Kumar Mangalam Birla has already said that if the company does not get relief in case of AGR, then he can close his business. The Vodafone Group has also said that it will not make fresh investments in Vodafone Idea. In this case, if the company stops its operation, it will make more than one lakh people unemployed. The company employs 11,700 employees on its payroll, while the company employs around 1 lakh people indirectly. According to Anil Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Communications, 20 million people have lost their jobs in the telecom world.
