Vodafone Idea will not sale its assets after relief package announced by Modi govt

New Delhi: Government relief measures announced for the telecom sector (Telecom Sector) last week have revived Vodafone Idea Limited. The company is now confident not only of staying in the market but is also considering cancelling its plans to sell its properties. Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) MD and CEO Ravinder Thakkar briefed about the company's plans in an interview on September 22.

Ravinder Thakkar said the company will now review its plans to raise funds. The plan to sell properties can now be cancelled. We will compete with other companies in the market by raising money in other ways. The government had announced some relief measures for the telecom sector on September 16 last week. These measures served as a Sanjivani for the dilapidated telecom sector. The companies were given four years from filling up regulatory dues. With this, 100 percent of FDI were approved from the automatic route and AGR was redefined.

25,000 crores, but the company has not been able to finalize the name of any investor so far. Earlier, the promoters of the company Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone had refused to make the new investment. The two promoters are yet to express their stand after the government announced to push reforms in the telecom sector.
