Volkswagen will be launching the Tiguan SUV in India in the month of May 2017. 

The India-spec Tiguan is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engine that develops 147 BHP while being mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Compared to the previous-gen model, the new Tiguan is 50 kg lighter, though its length and width have been increased by 60 mm and 30 mm, respectively.

The top-end Tiguan will be loaded with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity and will also support satellite navigation. Lower variants are expected to get a smaller infotainment unit with a 5-inch display.

Bookings of the Volkswagen Tiguan are expected to commence from the next month (April 2017).
