New Delhi: Counting has begun in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Puducherry, Kerala. Trends will start appearing in a short while from now and gradually the picture of the results will become clearer.  This time there is a clash between the Left and the Congress alliance in Kerala. The results of panchayat elections and other polls are also coming up today.

State that the term of the West Bengal Assembly ends on May 30, 2021. In such a situation, the process of forming the Assembly and the new government is to be completed before 30th May. West Bengal has a total of 294 assembly seats. Mamata Banerjee has been the CM here for the last 10 years. According to trends so far, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 18 seats, while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has retained 10 seats.

The Congress-Left alliance has also gained an edge in one seat. Postal ballot votes are now being counted in which the BJP seems to be gaining ground. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's dominated region Kanthi and Purulia have retained the lead.  The BJP has also retained the lead from Haldia.
